slumdog ke oscar se kush garibi
dear friends,
Slumdog ko ek nahi 8 oscar se nawaza gaya.... jisme do bhartiyo ko oscar mile... yaani ki desh ko 3 oscar, do A.R. Rahmaan aur ek purkutti ko aur baaki 6 oscar desh k nange bhookhe zindagi se joojhti garibi ko.... yaani ki smile pinki documentry me bhi garibi ne oscar dilaya.... kya garibi hi oscar ki hero hai.... agar aisa hota to lagaan aur mother india bhi garibi k liye oscar se nawazi jaati... jaha oscar milne se logo me khishi hai wahi kahi na kahi bhartiya cinema me western duniya ko samajhne me kami jaroor najar aa rahi hai ..... shaayad bhartiya directoro ko filme banani nahi aati aisi filme jo oscar jeete.... slumdog ka director, producer firangi hai shayaaad hindustaan ko samajhna wo achchi tarah jaanta hai isiliye aapko oscar dila diya.... yaa fir jis tarah se hum paschimi sanskrit me apne aap ko dhaal rahe hai , shaayas paschimi samman ki lalach hume itna utsuk kar dete hai ki hum oscar paane ke liye tadapte hai, shayaad humari filme apni sabhyata ko sahi maayane me nahi darsha paate.....
aage apke response ka intzaar ...... phir aage likna choonga.....

I think....I am
It all started out as a space to express one self, up and above the mundane daily existence in the eclectic world of news. But, it turned into a print version of one-upmanship, mudslinging and I-told-you-so's... some might argue that all of the above IS an metaphor for self expression, is a factual report on the so called mundane daily existence.
'I think-I am'... these immortal words of Ayn Rand have stuck to me and always seem to find an escape, but unfortunately people around me don't think... if they did, maybe they would rise above the incessant cribbing and focus on opening up the windows of their closed minds... maybe they would see some light at the end of the tunnel...maybe they might find their catharsis in writing....maybe I am hoping against hope...
Well, it is for us bloggers to make this place interesting, it is upto us to hone our writing skills, it is upto us to start a new idea.... All the best!

Aap logo se is blog par judne me mujhe behad khishi aur apnapan mehsus ho raha hai.........shayad isliye ki ye tv9 k employees ka apna corner hai...... jaha hum apne dil ki intellectual bhadaas, maaf kijiyega baat discuss kar sakte hai.....i mean koi sune ya na sune ye blog to jaroor sunega......news room ke is kone se aap logo se mai communicate karta rahoonga aur ek healthy discussion ki umeed bhi karta hooo..... shayad aapme se koi is discussion me shaamil haona jaroor pasand kare....
i would prefer to be writing in broken suburban english.....devnagiri me likh nahi sakta wo isliye nahi ki typing nahi aati, typing bakhoobi aati hai, wo isliye kyonki ki mana kiya gaya hai....ab ye mat poochna ki kisne kiya hai......waise kaafi dino se is blog par aana chah raha tha par pata nahi tha ki kise approach karni hai, ab aa gaya hoo to ...... likhta rahoonga..... :)
girish ka post padhkar hairaan rah gaya, kai dino se is tarah ka vyang likna chah raha tha, shayad usne shabdo me bayan kar diya..... aakhir news sense ke dikhave me hum me se har koi, ek dusre ko peeche dekhna chahta hai.....

Anchor- Slumdog Millionaire aaj release ho gayi. A.R.Rehman ke music se saji iss film ko Oscar mein 10-10 categories mein namaankan haasil hone se Bhartiyon mein khaasa utsaah dekha ja
raha hai. Utsaah issliye bhi jyaada hai kyonki A.R.Rehman ko kam se kam ek award milna toh lagbhag tai maana ja raha hai. Yeh khush hone ka samay hai hamein khush hona bhi chahiye. Lekin saath hi kuchh sawaal hain jinse hum muh nahi mod sakte.
Kya isse pehle A.R.Rehman ne behtar sangeet nahi diya hai? Kya Slumdog Millionaire mein unhone ab tak ka sarvshreshth sangeet diya hai? Kya Naya Daur ,kagaz ke phool apne daur mein kisi kaagzi antarrashtriya award ke laayak bhi nahi thi? Kya Rang de basanti aur lage raho Munnabhai ko bhi isi tarah se antarrashtriya star par hype nahi milna chahiye tha. Kyon Lagaan jaisi filmon ko iske liye itni mashakkat karni padti hai…aisi filmein kya sirf isliye pichhad jaati rahi hain kyonki inhe Danny Boyle aur Richard Attonbourough jaise baahar ke directors ne direct nahi kiya. Satyajit Ray jaisi hasti ko bhi marne ke baad special Oscar jaise aspasht category ke liye award thamaya jaata hai…aur phir halaanki iss par kaafi kuchh kaha ja chuka hai lekin sawaal apni jagah kaayam hai ki Oscar ke laayak Bharat mein garibi ke alawa koi aur subject nahi?
. …sawaal kai hain…kyon 1994 se hi bhartiya ladkiyon ke liye Miss Universe aur miss world ka khitab jeetna aasaan ho gaya? Hum jaante hain ki Globaligation ke age mein cosmetics industries mein multinational companies ko Bharat ke bazaar ko exploit karna tha…kya yeh sahi nahi ki ab videshi companiyon ka dhyaan bharat ke entertainment bazaar par pada hai
Slumdog Millionaire hi nahi haal hi mein release hui Chandni Chauk to China se lekar aanewaali kam se kam 10 se jyaada filmon mein Warner Brothers jaisi videshi companiyaan apne paise lagaa rahi hain…aur yahi wo tathya hai jiske liye ab bollywood se judi hastiyon ko naam bhi mil raha hai aur daam bhi…varna bhartiya cinema se jude kaabil log pehle bhi they aur aaj bhi hain.

Director Mahesh Bhatt is widely known in the industry for his bold and thought provoking comments and now the director has given his take on Oscar nominated Slumdog Millionaire insisting that SM is not A.R Rahman’s best work.
He says, ‘’If you see his work in the past, he has produced such a quality product that it shouldn’t even take a minute to award this legend. His music in TAAL, RANG DE BASANTI or even LAGAAN, which was nominated for the Oscars, stood nowhere in eyes of the Oscars’ Jury. However, when his music has a white connection, it comes to the priority list of the awards. Why? So is it that we Indians are incapable of making it to Oscars? Or it is just that we would be used for other’s benefit and just left unrecognized.”
That comment is indeed thought provoking. Do you feel the same folks?

To the Revolution
Here's a poem that a very good friend and writer wrote, on India's 57th Republic Day, on 26th January 2006, trying to capture and criticize the new world order of terror and war; a scenario our generation was hitherto unaware of...
I think 3 years down the line, this poem is even more relevant today ... Thanks Varun for letting me use it...
Hey…did you kill me…
in the name of the revolution?
Did you tell me,
The name of the revolution..?
I was a boy, growing up easy,
It was a world, simple and rosy…
"Rosy?", you said, "rosy my foot,"
"Nothing's rosy anymore, life's a brute"
Yeah, life's a brute, 'cos I was dead,
in the name of the revolution.
But….did you tell me,
The name of the revolution..?
And did you tell them,
I am a martyr…?
Did you tell them,
What's a martyr?
Did you tell them,
How I am one?
Did you tell them,
Their own son….
…picked up the gun, and killed two,
In the name of the revolution..?
And did they ask,
The name of the revolution?
To heaven, I would go…
I heard it once,
Yeah, I could hear,
Amid the firing guns,
That heaven is for those,
Who have the gun,
(And a 'resolution')
Then why did I feel,
Five bullets inside my head,
'To hell with the revolution?'
